Let us turn our attention back to more serious issues, namely fascists.

How we love to hate them, and how well, from an urban planning and design perspective, their shiny pink faces complement pavements. As a wise man once observed, "better red than dead, better dead than a fascist" (or as a dear friend once observed, "better red than dead, better dead than a Flashist", oh aren't us 3D game developers awful snobs).

Not all fascists hold the same level of fascination for me, I must admit. Some breeds are quite unexciting. My interest is always piqued, however, by clerical fascists. Clerical fascism delicately combines two reactionary ideologies into such a satisfying chimera of bigotry that one is never left feeling at a loss.

Brunswick (a strongly multi-ethnic suburb) is no stranger to fascists, and a graffiti war between the local fascists and the socialist/anarchist community has raged for years. But as far as I'm aware, sightings of clerical fascists are rare. Last week some of them blitzed the streets of Brunswick:

Clerical fascist graffiti, not yet avenged

Apparently, this was the work of a group called the Creativity Movement, formerly know as The World Church of the Creator. Their founder, a white supremicist and suspected washing detergent advertising copy writer, claims that the church has "a comprehensive plan as to how to achieve a Whiter and Brighter World."

In defence of a coffee-stained and colour-fast world, it was time for the Cheesecake Avenger to act (accompanied by her trusty camera-wielding sidekick, your humble servant):

Red very effective here

Drat these red walls

Elegance in simplicity

Maybe you need to start a 'streets of brunswick' section of the Sword? I think you've got quite the collection happening.

I still think you need a photo of 'cinnamon not donuts'...

Some idiot painted "Love not war" on a wall in b'wick... about a week later "Cinnamon not donuts" could be found next to it.

Not at all mine, but I wish it was.
